Yaoi Art: Character Designs for a Superhero Yaoi
Just a quick post to share some new art with you. 
While I’m waiting on art for “Brother’s Keeper” (just got the last penciled pages today!) and Artifice (which is so close!) to finish, I’ve started work on a superhero yaoi. That’s right: a superhero yaoi.
I’m working with DC/Marvel/Dark Horse penciler Adam DeKraker on this and he just sent me character designs for our two main characters: superhero Kyle and supervillain “The Annihilator”.

Looks kind of flat, maybe too close to Archie. Maybe shorten the hero’s hair a smidge?

If by “flat”, you’re referring to the coloring, then absolutely. These are just some color concepts that Adam worked up for me to give to our colorist, rockstar Winona Nelson, for when the pencils are finished. Adam actually rendered these color concepts quite a bit more than I expected, so I can see how you might think they were intended to be a finished product.
And thank you for your feedback about the look of Kyle. We will of course continue to develop his look as the penciled pages are created, but we’ll definitely steer clear of making him look like Archie. That’s a whole ‘nother kind of yaoi.
I’ve always thought Adam’s work was gorgeous; he did two illustrations for my forthcoming monster hunter novella LEGACY and they are stunning!
And he’s a delight to work with, too—great with notes, completely on top of deadlines, a total pro. It’s definitely been a pleasure.

Woo, this is wonderful, I never imagined something like this. Does Kyle have superpowers? Ahh, it’ll be great to see clashes between the two. It seems it has an air of futuristic, looking design of “The Annihilator”. I don´t follow a lot of work in comic illustrators, so I don´t know much about Adam’s work. But now, it’s an opportunity to meet him.

Yep, Kyle has superpowers (they are fire-based) as does The Annihilator—and no need to keep your attraction to Anni a secret, part of the reason I like pairing different looking characters together is to give something for everyone. And who doesn’t like the bad boys?
I think this comic is going to be an especially fun one to make. Thank you very much for letting me know you liked Adam’s work!

For this comics, the two main love interests are definitely The Annihilator and Kyle. If the story continues, there might be other love interests in this world.
