Heh: do I have to put my last name?
Sorry, once a cop’s child, always a cop’s child. I’m really wary about telling anyone it, especially on the internet.
Hi – I am a newsletter/download subscriber. I got the notice email that ‘Tough’ Chapter 1 was available, but getting the comic has been ‘Tough’ in its self. I was notified I’ll get a email with a link, but that didn’t happen – I can’t seem to get the comic – can you help? :-{ thankx!
I don’t know what I’m doing wrong it still won’t show
@personifyingowned –
I totally understand. You should only include the information that you feel safe sharing. And I’m glad you asked — it’s a good question.
The reason I ask you to enter your first and last name is so we can include them when we send you our emails. It’s to help you remember that you actually wanted to hear from us and that we’re not just some strangers. (It also helps to keep our emails from accidentally winding up in your spam folder — your email program doesn’t like it when you’re just addressed as an email address. It makes it seem like a bot just scraped your email address off of a web site.) And we don’t give out subscriber information to anyone else, ever — it’s just for us and our email service.
But if you don’t want to use your real name, that’s absolutely, totally fine — it won’t hurt our feelings. Just promise you won’t think we’re weird when we send you emails calling you “Naruto Uzumaki”.
(Just be extra sure to add our email address to your address book so we don’t get marked as junk by your email program. And it’s a good idea to choose a name that will help your remember that you actually signed up with us and that we’re not spam — that’s really the whole point of the name thing — so best not to just pound the keys at random, better to choose something personal that a spammer wouldn’t use. And BTW, you can always change your name later — an “Update Your Profile” link is at the bottom of every email.)
Fair enough?
@RC –
Hey RC! Sorry to hear you’ve been having trouble. I think I know what happened and I’ll do my best to help out!
I do see you on the newsletter list, but I also see that (based on the time you posted this comment) you actually hadn’t received our newsletter yet — what you had received was an emailed version of the blog post I put up in advance of sending out the newsletter! (I can see you actually signed up for *two* Yaoi 911 lists — our News & Downloads newsletter and our emailed blog posts mailing list). That’s why there wasn’t a direct download link in that email.
Right now, my email service provider is sending out the actual Yaoi 911 News & Downloads newsletters with the download links to everyone on the list. They space them out over 48 hours, so I’m not sure when you’ll actually get yours, but it should be before March 1st.
But all that’s just explanation — let’s get you the comic!
You actually don’t need to wait for our newsletter to download “Tough”. Our comics are made available at our new Store as free downloads for subscribers as soon as I post on our blog. If you’re a subscriber, you can create a new account at our store using your subscriber email address, Add To Cart a free comic and when you Checkout, you’ll be able to download it for free. The link at our Store for Tough is here:
https://store.yaoi911.com/free-comics/tough-chapter-one
If you don’t want to have to wait for the Newsletter to get to you with the links, you can go there right now and download the comic. But the Newsletter with the links should be sent to you soon — so if that feels like a hassle, not to worry, direct links are on the way!
(And in the future, I think I’ll do this a little differently. I had expected our emailed blog posts to go out tomorrow night, not tonight –so I goofed a little bit. I’m very sorry for the confusion!)
Please let me know if that solves the problem!
Alex
@Nanani –
Gosh, I’m sure you aren’t doing anything wrong — but if you’re clicking the links in the blog post, the only one that will let you download the comic, is the one linking to our Store.
https://store.yaoi911.com/free-comics/tough-chapter-one
Because you’re a subscriber, you can create a new account at our store using your subscriber email address, Add To Cart a free comic and when you Checkout, you’ll be able to download it for free.
But not to worry, as a subscriber, direct links to the PDF file are on their way to you! We have over 11,000 people on our list so our email service provider takes about 48 hours to get through them all. But everyone on the list should get an email with the links by March 1st. So, the links are on their way!
If there is any other way I can help, please let me know!
Alex
i want full comics
@umm22 –
And I’d like to help you.
I’m not sure exactly what you’re asking for, though. By signing up for this list, you get sent links to one 16-page comic (A Shot in the Dark) and one 35-page comic, Tough: Chapter One . On May 1st, list subscribers will be sent another 35-page comic, Tough: Chapter Two (No Kissing).
Were you looking for something different than that?
wow, the comis are great ! I wrote a little review about them in my yaoi image blog ( http://yaoigallery.blogspot.com ) hope that I’ve done nothing bad
PS: sorry for my poor english
@naruuzum –
Oh, I think your post is wonderful! Thank you!
(And nothing bad, don’t worry. I appreciate you linking to us. The one thing I would ask is that the images be credited.
So for the image you used from our Banner (Rob kissing Mike’s neck), I’d ask that you include a caption underneath that says:
“Pencils by Vitto. Colors by Winona Nelson. © 2010 Alex Woolfson.”
For the next image of Ben and The Demon, I’d ask that you include underneath:
“Pencils by Karla Diaz C. Colors by Winona Nelson. © 2007 Alex Woolfson.”
For the image from the cover of Tough (Rob and Mike embracing):
“Cover art by Winona Nelson. © 2009 Alex Woolfson.”
And for the Artifice character designs of Deacon and Jeff in their underwear:
“Art by Winona Nelson. @ 2007 Alex Woolfson.”
If you could do that, I’d very much appreciate it. Thank you again for linking to our site and for your kind words! I hope you like what we send you next!
Alex
done
@naruuzum –
You are awesome! Thank you!
wow… you linked my blog
… my first link in a blogroll, so happy
ty very much !
These look hot, I wonder if they would be allowed on some of the raunchier free webcomic sites like Exploitation Now
Just finished reading the free comics and I’m hooked. Great art, intriguing plots, and compelling characters. Thanks for sharing!
Well, I’m really glad you liked them! Thank you very much for letting me know. Made my day.
Please be sure to tell all your friends!
I want some comics, what can I do ?….
@Bollen –
Getting download links to our comics is easy.
Just fill out the red form near the top of this page. When you do that, you’ll be sent a “confirmation email” and when you click the confirmation link in that email, you will be sent a “Welcome Email” that contains direct download links to our comics.
In the future, you will be sent emails with links whenever we have new comics. And you can unsubscribe any time — there’s an instant unsubscribe link at the top of every email we send.
Does that help?
have you ever thought of doing a furry yaoi comic?
@daronsong –
It’s funny you should ask.
Actually, one of the first comics I was creating for Yaoi 911 (right after “A Shot in the Dark”) was an homage to an old favorite anime of mine: Ranma. Because it had a character that turned into a cute little animal when splashed with cold water, it might have been considered a bit “furry”. Alas, the work with that artist was never completed, so I’ve put that comic on hold. But you never know — his schedule might free up again and we might actually finish it some day.
